IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL!

Many ask, how can students, families, educators, and communities benefit from concentrated incorporation of positive family values into their everyday living? The summer of 2019 has been full of tweets, family tragedies, shootings, and natural disasters that may have traumatized children worldwide. I am hopeful that families have also found time to talk about values, relax, show love, appreciation, have fun, and just be together.

Studies indicate that most high-achieving students are in homes where parents or other adult caregivers are engaged in the educational process and demonstrate the value of education. It is essential that the home be a positive learning environment. Learning begins with stories and active hands-on lessons each day, which establishes the framework for academic achievement.

Invite your family, tribe, and community to become involved in your child’s academic journey. Education starts at home so take time to review your family values, goals, and expectations.

Start the new school year off with these actions that support academic achievement.

Actions That Support Academic Achievement
